Residential Parking Permit Decals

Residential Parking Permit Decals may be purchased for $15.00 per vehicle. Zones are distinguished by different colored and numbered zone permits. To participate in the North Bergen Residential Parking Program, a resident must provide proof of residency, vehicle ownership or evidence of having a leased or company-owned vehicle. This is accomplished as follows:

Residents who live in a Residential Parking Permit zone need to provide:


  • Your valid New Jersey driver's license with your name and North Bergen street address, and

  • Your valid New Jersey vehicle registration with your name and North Bergen street address.

  • Your valid New Jersey driver's license, and

  • Your valid New Jersey vehicle registration, and

  • Two (2) current utility bills (gas, electric, cable, telephone) with your name and North Bergen street address.


Note: If your vehicle is leased, you will also need to provide the insurance card to the vehicle being applying for with your name and North Bergen street address.

Residents who have company-owned vehicles, registered in or outside of New Jersey, and live in a Residential Parking Permit zone need to provide:


  • Your valid New Jersey driver's license with your name a North Bergen street address, and

     

  • A valid vehicle registration with your company's name, and


  • Letter on official Company Letterhead stating that the vehicle is authorized to be used by the North Bergen resident, and


  • Two (2) current utility bills (gas, electric, cable, telephone) with your name and North Bergen street address.



Please note Utility bills with mailing addresses outside of North Bergen, or a P.O. Box addresses on utility bills with "service at" North Bergen is not considered proof for a residential parking permit decal or hangtag.

Parking Permit Decals Display

 

Resident Parking Permit Decals must be permanently affixed on the interior rearview mirror facing outward. Vehicles with decals affixed incorrectly are subject to a summons.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE

If you have a change of vehicle, please notify

the Authority immediately. When a change

of License Plate or Vehicle occurs, you must

return the original valid residential parking

permit decal in order to receive a replacement

decal at no charge. In addition, you will also

need to bring the current vehicle registration,

the insurance card (if the vehicle is leased),

and your valid driver's license.

Permits can not be interchanged among vehicles.

Any damaged permit will be replaced at no cost

except during renewal period.
