RESIDENTIAL PARKING REGULATIONS:
Residents Must Provide :
BUSINESS PERMIT: 
For business owners and employees who have a business within an RPP zone.
Rates:
$20 per month
$100 for 6 months
$175 Annually 
Employees must provide:
  • Valid Driver’s License.
  • Valid Vehicle Registration
  • Payroll stub dated less than 3 weeks before the application.
  • A letter from the employer on business letterhead, verifying employment.
Business owners must provide:

  • Valid N.J. Driver’s License

  • Valid N.J. Vehicle Registration

  • North Bergen Business License or Certificate of Occupancy Or 2 bills with the name of the business and North Bergen address. 

ACCIDENT PERMIT: 
$10 per month.

For residents who had a recent car accident or had their vehicle stolen and require temporary parking for a vehicle.
* Vehicles determined to be a total loss may be eligible for a FREE replacement permit with the return of the old permit or a letter from your insurance carrier indicating the loss
Accident Permit Requirements: 

  • Valid Driver’s License with your name and North Bergen street address.
  • A valid Vehicle Registration/Rental Agreement for the temporary replacement vehicle.
  • Police report of accident or report number and name of reporting agency.
GOVERNMENT/MILITARY PERMIT: 

Permits are for individuals, who are either employed by a government/law enforcement agency or who are serving in the military, to be able to park a non-commercial vehicle in the Township. 

When registering, ALL of the following documentation is required: 

A. Your valid driver's license 

B. Your valid vehicle registration 

C. Government/Military ID or any official document specifying deployment ( copy of deployment order, proof of deployment, etc.)  

Yearly Renter’s Permit ( For Rental Vehicles) :
Intended for residents who live in North Bergen but don’t own their vehicle.
Applicants must provide: 

  • Valid N.J. license with your name and North Bergen address.
  • 2 utility bills with name and North Bergen address.
  • Copy of vehicle’s rental agreement every time a vehicle is rented.
  • Visitors may park in an RPP zone for 3 hours with no permit :  Monday - Friday from 7 a.m. -10 p.m.

  • Residents can purchase a Daily Visitor Permit in office or online for $3 per day, the fee for non-residents is $10 per day. (Valid for 24 hours only.)

Contesting a Parking Summons:
‍If you believe you were issued a summons in error, please email our HelpDesk at nbparkinghelp@nbpaonline.org along with any supporting documentation.
$50 per year 

Note: Residents registering for a deployed family member will be required to submit their license with their North Bergen street address, a copy of the deployment orders or other deployment (Additional information may be requested during the approval process) 

FEE: $10 per vehicle; Valid thirty (30) days from the date of Approval Confirmation. 

Six (6) months maximum purchase.
